"Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works
Which You have done;
And Your thoughts toward us
Cannot be recounted to You in order;
If I would declare and speak of them,
They are more than can be numbered." Ps. 40:5
Through the years it has been a practice of mine in marital counseling to give a particular homework assignment in our initial meeting. Typically the couple want to air out their laundry list of complaints, which they feel is long and over-burdensome. So I let them air it out, and then no more complaining. Ever. The homework they are given is simple, but eye-opening. "Write down a list of every single thing your mate does for you and every single thing about them that you appreciate." You can imagine the looks I get at times! But the point is clear -- sometimes we get so focused on one thing, or a handful of things we consider negative that we make so big that we neglect to see the hundreds, thousands of things that are positive.
The Psalmist had it right here when he spoke of God's wonderful works as "many" and "more than can be numbered". How many reasons did you have to smile today? The gift of a sunrise, a fresh batch of God's mercy, food, shelter, clothing, coffee with a friend, a phone call with someone you love, the laughter from a great memory, the hug of someone who cares, the site to read, the ears to hear "I love you", the smell of the rose and the taste of melting butter on warm bread...all and so many more great reasons to smile! God has done so much for you, and He is doing for you now a multitude of wonderful things. Take a pen and paper and just start writing the many things God is doing for you and just see how your gaze is lifted, your day is brightened and your burden in lightened. God is so good! Remember today the wonderful works of God!

Ladies Bible Study - Beth Moore "Believing God" continues this Sunday at 9am
10 weeks of small group time. Based on Isaiah 43:10, Beth explores what it means not only "to believe in God" but "to believe Him." The bride of Jesus Christ in our generation is nearly paralyzed by unbelief. God is calling His bride to a fresh and lavish anointing of faith. Through studying the lives of Abraham, Moses, and others as examples of persons who believed God, Beth encourages women to deepen their own trust in God and receive a fresh word from Him.
Sunday Evening Bible Study: We are currently working through the DVD based study by Andy Stanley, “Breakaway”. Andy Stanley illustrates how our core beliefs influence our decisions, which dictate the outcomes of our lives. Six-part series. Participant books are $5.
