Several weeks ago I shared the lyrics to one of the newer praise and worship songs that I really appreciate. I plan to share more lyrics with you in the weeks ahead. This week I share a song that comes straight from Scripture and the life of Job.

Blessed Be Your Name
by Matt Redman
- - -
Blessed Be Your Name
In the land that is plentiful

Where Your streams of abundance flow

Blessed be Your name

Blessed Be Your name

When I'm found in the desert place

Though I walk through the wilderness

Blessed Be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise

When the darkness closes in, Lord

Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be Your name

When the sun's shining down on me

When the world's 'all as it should be'

Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name

On the road marked with suffering

Though there's pain in the offering

Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise

When the darkness closes in, Lord

Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name

Youth Bible Study: Tonight we are meeting at Starbucks in Tomball! You just never know what might happen, so don’t miss out! I look forward to seeing you – and meeting one of your friends!

Mom and dad, if your teen needs a ride, please let us know. We will work with you to provide transportation, so just reply to this email asap. Thanks!

Outreach: Thursday evening at 6:30 I will be going to go door-to-door near our church location handing out some flyers and just inviting folks to come check out CrossBridge Church. It sure would be nice to have some company, so if you have one hour you could invest in outreach, please let me know so we can coordinate a meeting place. We have great music, some really awesome folks and a warm atmosphere. It’s just too good to keep a secret, so join me tomorrow evening and let’s go meet some neighbors!

Recently I had the opportunity to share the gospel with a teenager that was greatly confused. I asked him to describe his relationship with God and it all pointed to him making “better choices”. Basically, if he made good choices, God will come more into his life. So, when he made bad choices, God will go out of his life. Can you imagine the fear and frustration that would bring to your life? My heart was broken for this young person. Respectful, considerate, considered to be a fine person would be a fair description of this individual. But as I shared God’s love and His offer of salvation, I could not help but feel my spirit take wing as the gospel found fertile soil in this young heart and mind I shared with. It reminded me of a wonderful verse from the Psalmist, “Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy.” (Psalm 126:5) When is the last time you reaped such a harvest as that of a lost soul? Before we can reap, we must sow. Let’s get busy with the task our Lord has given to us and share Jesus with those whom we meet.

Outreach: This Saturday morning at 10 I will be going to go door-to-door near our church location handing out some flyers and just inviting folks to come check out CrossBridge Church. It sure would be nice to have some company, so if you have an hour or so you could invest in outreach, please let me know so we can coordinate a meeting place. We have great music, some really awesome folks and a warm atmosphere. It’s just too good to keep a secret, so join me Saturday morning and let’s go meet some neighbors!

Youth Bible Study: Next Wednesday night we will be meeting at Spring Creek Park in Tomball! Bring a friend to our Bible Study! It will be a great time of food, fun, and some meaningful time in God’s word. I look forward to seeing you – and meeting one of your friends! Mom and dad, if your teen needs a ride, please let us know. We will work with you to provide transportation. Thanks!

Next Tuesday (4/21): Three of our high school seniors from CrossBridge play their final baseball game next Tuesday at Bear Creek Park at 4:00 p.m. We’d love to invite you out to see a good baseball game as the school honors these senior athletes. A brief recognition ceremony will take place following the game.

“Son of man, can these bones live?” (Ezekiel 37:3)

“Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, "Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days." Jesus said to her, "Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” (John 11:39, 40)

“And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" that is, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"” (Matthew 27:46)

This Sunday, we celebrate the answer to these questions. See you then!
