Well, it has been a while sent I sent an actual email…but want to make sure everyone gets these couple of pieces of news. First, I want to ask everyone to make our meeting place location a matter of prayer. Someone mentioned this past weekend, “David, you get us a piece of land and I’ll get us the building.” Well, wouldn’t that be nice! Can you pray with me about this? Perhaps you know someone in our vicinity that has some land that might be willing to donate a portion of it for a church. We will never know if we do not ask! Many churches have been blessed with such a donation, why not CrossBridge? Will you faithfully pray with me on this?

Second, family movie night will be June 17, Father’s Day. Can you guess what movie we will watch together? Make plans to join us for a fun and deeply meaningful evening.

Obviously it is summer, and many will be traveling. We want everyone to enjoy your vacation time with your family, and we also want to encourage our church family to continue in their faithfulness in honoring God with their tithes. Expenses of course continue, so please, let’s all do our part. Your tithes and offerings can be mailed to the address given below.

Finally, I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who assisted with the wedding of Charlie and Janice this past weekend. It’s the first and only wedding I’ve ever been a part of that included the opportunity for people to respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ…and…one actually did! So very cool!

A quick reminder about our efforts we are calling “Small Simple Act of Kindness”. Let’s all keep our eyes open and be faithful to serve others! If you need any of the cards to hand out, be sure to pick some up this Sunday!

A woman wrote J. Vernon McGee: "Our preacher said that on Easter Jesus just swooned on the cross and that the disciples nursed him back to health. What do you think?" McGee replied, "Dear Sister, beat your preacher with a leather whip for thirty-nine heavy strokes. Nail him to a cross. Hang him in the sun for six hours. Run a spear through his heart. Embalm him. Put him in an airless tomb for three days. Then see what happens."

There are those who want to believe whatever it is they believe in spite of the facts. This is not intended to sway non-believers. That will come for all, sooner or later.

This morning, however, we look to the borrowed tomb. And, just as the women found it on that great resurrection day, will still find it open and empty! “Why is the tomb open?”you ask? To show us Jesus is not there! “Where is He?”you ask? He is alive! Why would you seek the living amongst the dead? Jesus promised, and Jesus delivered!

Jesus has overcome

And the grave is overwhelmed

The victory is won

He is risen from the dead
